João Cotrim de Figueiredo is a Portuguese businessman and politician with extensive experience in business management. He has a degree in economics as well as an MBA.
He has been a deputy for Iniciativa Liberal since the 2019 Portuguese legislative elections, having been re-elected in the 2022 elections with a much higher result. Between December 2019 and January 2023, he was the 3rd President of the party's Executive Committee.
He worked in executive positions at Compal, Nutricafés, Privado Holding and TVI. He was president of the Board of Directors of Turismo de Portugal between 2013 and 2016. In 2015, he was elected vice president of the European Travel Commission, while also being president of the board at Turismo de Portugal. He was also involved in the negotiations that brought the Web Summit to Lisbon in 2015.
On 6 October 2019, he was elected Member of Parliament for the Lisbon constituency, becoming the first representative of Iniciativa Liberal in the Assembly of the Republic.
In 2022, he led IL to become the 4th political force in Portugal, managing to elect 8 deputies in the elections. He was party leader of the party between October 2019 and January 2023.
