Keskusta launches electoral campaign

On 2 February, the Finnish Centre Party Keskusta launched its electoral campaign ahead of Finland’s upcoming parliamentary election on 14 April. The launch event in Helsinki gathered hundreds of supporters and was followed by a kick-off cruise on the Gulf of Finland.

In his opening address, Juha Sipilä, party leader and Prime Minister of Finland, outlined the priorities for the election as well as for the next government, including ambitious targets for social, educational and economic policies. The party also stressed climate action and the need to strengthen the role of the EU.

The European dimension was also highlighted at the cruise, including presentations by the party’s candidates for the European elections in May and a speech by Taavi Rõivas, former Prime Minister of Estonia and the Chair of the ALDE Party Manifesto Committee.
