Liberal leaders at Democratic National Convention

ALDE Party Co-President Timmy Dooley and Liberal International Vice-President Henrik Bach Mortensen attended the Democratic National Convention on 19-22 August in Chicago, United States.

Co-President Dooley and Mortensen’s attendance came as the Democratic Party approaches the upcoming United States Presidential election.

During the four-day event, Democratic Party delegates confirmed US Vice-President Kamala Harris as the party’s Presidential candidate for the election due to be held on 5 November.

In 2020, European liberals welcomed the election of Joe Biden as President of the United States and Harris as the US’ first female Vice-President.
