Last week, ALDE Party Vice-President Dan Barna led a working delegation in Moldova ahead of the country’s upcoming local elections on 5 November.
The delegation, made up of 11 members of the Romanian Parliament from ALDE Party member USR, travelled to support and promote Moldova’s future EU accession and European integration.
The delegation met with dozens of Moldovan and Romanian citizens and mayors, representatives from Chisinau’s business and culture industry, and residents in the villages of Negrești and Sireți in the Strășeni district.
"It is in the interest of liberalism and an important objective for the USR and president Cătălin Drula, to keep the subject of the accession of the Republic of Moldova in the EU on the agenda and in the public debate in Chisinau, Bucharest, and Brussels,” said Vice-President Barna.
“I was glad that we were able to talk this weekend with Moldovan citizens, businessmen, and people of culture about the benefits of joining the EU and about the lessons that can be learned from Romania's experience regarding joining the EU and how we managed or not to benefit from accession opportunities.
“We also discussed the security of Moldova, which today means more Europe, it means the need for reforms and resources for development.”
🇪🇺🇲🇩 Sunt premise bune ca până la finele acestui an Republica Moldova să înceapă negocierile de aderare la Uniunea Europeană.
