On 25 January, Edin Forto, leader of ALDE Party member Naša Stranka, was appointed Minister of Transport and Communications of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This appointment is a historic event for the party as it enters national government for the first time.
Following the announcement, Forto declared that the pro-European path of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be the focus of his work at the ministry, and that he will aim to implement changes that will benefit all people throughout the country.
Additionally, Duška Jurišić was appointed Deputy Minister of Human Rights and Refugees, nominated by Naša Stranka.
ALDE Party Co-Presidents Senator Timmy Dooley and Ilhan Kyuchyuk MEP sent their congratulations to Forto and Jurišić, stating:
“The voters in Bosnia and Herzegovina sent a strong message in the last elections of October 2022 that they want change and a credible path towards the European Union, and this was expressed most strongly by the increase in support for Naša Stranka as the most pro-European party on the ballot.”
“We look forward to continuing to work strongly with you in this new role as you work towards building this European future for Bosnia and Herzegovina,” they added.
