Update from Germany
On 24 November, nearly two months after the German elections, ALDE Party member FDP together with SPD and the Greens unveiled a new coalition agreement to form a new government, putting an end to the Merkel-era in Germany.
The German liberals will get four Ministerial portfolios: Finance, Justice, Transport and Education. FDP party leader, Christian Lindner is set to become the new finance minister and Bettina Stark Wartzinger, Alliance Of Her Alumna, the new minister for education and research. The coalition agreement stressed a pro-European angle and includes key liberal priorities to ensure freedom, sustainability and modernisation while boosting digitalisation and strengthening civil rights, fair free trade and multilateralism.

The new government is expected to be voted on 6 December.
