On 25 September, ALDE Party and Renew Europe co-hosted a meeting of Ministers in Brussels ahead of the Competitiveness (COMPET) Council of the European Union. 

During the meeting, Ministers discussed the main topics on the COMPET Council agenda, as well as increasing European competitiveness in the context of high inflation and ensuring the EU Single Market works for everyone, especially SMEs. 

Participants included: 

• Dara Calleary, Minister of State for the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment (Fianna Fáil, IE) 
• Roland Lescure, Minister Delegate for Industry (Renaissance, FR) 
• Ivaylo Shotev, Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry (BG) 
• Ieva Valeškaitė, Vice-Minister for Economy and Innovation (LT)
