Last weekend, ALDE Party’s Belgian member party Mouvement Réformateur (MR) hosted its annual summer event Les Estivales.
On the day’s agenda were issues of both local and European importance. Party leader and European Council President elect Charles Michel called for everyone to take responsibility so that the formation of the new Belgian federal government won’t be disturbed by inaction: “There is no room for immobilism.”
“I am optimistic about the future. The work must continue. Thank you for all your support,” Michel told the audience.
Also present at the event was Belgium’s candidate for the European Commission, Didier Reynders.
