Bosnia and Herzegovina has been a member of the Council of Europe since 2002 but until now, no liberals from the country have held a seat in its Parliamentary Assembly.
Following the party’s success at last year’s elections and entering into government for the first time, Sabina Ćudić, the President of the Board of ALDE Party member Naša stranka, this week became the first liberal member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe from Bosnia and Herzegovina upon taking her seat in the chamber.
"I will do my best to contribute to building the political, democratic and diplomatic credibility of Bosnia and Herzegovina, both in this institution and in its member countries, both alone and in cooperation with colleagues from the delegation of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” she said.
“I am convinced and I will say it again: we can be a country that exports European solutions, and not almost exclusively problems, I know that we can and must take a place at the European table."
