On Saturday 1 July Swiss ALDE Party member FDP The Liberals and the Neue Zürcher Zeitung hosted the 2nd International Liberal Symposium in Zurich, Switzerland.
The conference's aim was to discuss some of the pressing challenges of our time from a liberal perspective. Providing the platform to cultivate both friendship and the exchange of analysis and ideas, it thus brought together liberal politicians from Switzerland and Europe, business leaders, experts, and journalists.
ALDE Party President Hans van Baalen MEP addressed the participants with a key message: "The origin is not as important as the future. Populists have no solutions to today's problems."
Other speakers included Beate Meinl-Reisinger (NEOS), Michael Theurer (German FDP) or Petra Gössi (Swiss FDP).
