Liberal leaders on EU top positions ahead of the EU summit
Ahead of last Saturday's European Council meeting, ALDE Party President Sir Graham Watson commented: "With continuing economic problems at home and the crises in Ukraine and the Middle East we need European leadership that can start tackling the problems now."
Vestager nominated for new Commission, reshuffle in Danish government
Most member states have put forward names for a new European Commission. Danish social liberal Margrethe Vestager was nominated on Sunday. Liberal foreign minister Didier Reynders is one of the two likely Belgian contenders, which would bring the total number of ALDE Commissioners to six.
ALDE Party deplores attack on Yabloko member in Russia
The ALDE Party deplores the attack on Lev Shlosberg, a YABLOKO member, who was severely injured on Sunday in what is believed to be a crime that can be attributed to the mobbing of people in Russia that hold a different point of view on the situation in Ukraine.
