Party of Freedom and Progress

Party Leader:  Vladimir Novosiad

Before becoming a political party in 2003 the Party of Freedom and Progress began as a small group of people during the mid-1990s under the initiative of “Civil Alliance”. In 1996 they served as youth wing of the liberal-conservative party, “United Civil Party”.  At the parliamentary elections of 2000, the Civil Forum youth wing disagreed with the mother party and broke away. They started their own strategy based on liberal values and created a new mother party, “Party for Freedom and Progress”.
