Party Leader: Vladimir Novosiad
The Party of Freedom and Progress was born as the "Civil Alliance", an initiative of a small group of people during the mid-1990s. In 1996 they served as youth wing of the liberal-conservative party, “United Civil Party”. At the parliamentary elections of 2000, the Civil Forum youth wing broke away after disagreements with the mother party and started their own strategy based on liberal values, founding the “Party for Freedom and Progress” in 2003.
