On 6 September, Poland’s main opposition coalition – that includes ALDE Party member Nowoczesna – launched its campaign and electoral programme ahead of the country’s general elections to be held on 13 October.
The coalition was created back in October 2018 when Civic Platform and Nowoczesna announced that they would run together in the local elections.
In June 2019, the coalition announced that it would run again together in the 2019 general elections, this time joined by other members. Currently, the coalition is formed by Civic Platform, Nowoczesna, Polish Initiative and the Green Party.
The main objective of this alliance is to converge forces from all opposition parties to face the current government led by the Law and Justice party.
The coalition programme focuses on health, democracy, prosperity, ecology, education as well as the Polish elderly. Find out more about the programme here.
