On 6 October, Portuguese citizens will head to polls and elect the 230 members of the Portuguese Parliament (Asamblea de la Republica). In Portugal, each of the 18 districts as well as the two autonomous regions – Azores and Madeira – are individual electoral constituencies.
This is the first time that the ALDE Party member Iniciativa Liberal will run in general elections. Previously, the party has run in the 2017 local elections and the 2019 European elections. Iniciativa Liberal was formalised as a political party on 20 September 2017 and was welcomed as a full member of the ALDE Party in the 2017 ALDE Congress.
For these general elections, candidates have been chosen for each constituency, with party leader Carlos Guimarães Pinto leading the list in the electoral district of Porto. You can find the full list of candidates here.
