As for previous meetings, the ALDE Party has block booked a number of hotel rooms in the nearby area at which Council Delegates & guests will be able to benefit from preferential booking rates. Please find full details of the hotels including location; contact information; and booking details in the Hotel Information Sheet which you can download at the bottom of this page.

Delegates are advised to book early as there are a number of other large events taking place in Oslo at that time. Once the booking horizon period has ended, we cannot guarantee that rooms will be available at these hotels.

All venues are very well located within central Oslo, for ease of access from central air & rail hubs:

By plane:

Oslo Airport Gardermoen (OSL)

Oslo's main airport is Oslo Airport Gardermoen which is located 47 km northeast of the city. It is well served with direct connections to cities all over Europe. The fastest and most convenient way to get to the city centre is the Airport Express train which departs every 10 minutes and will take you to the Oslo Central Station in 19 or 22 minutes. When you have cleared customs in the arrivals hall, turn right and walk straight ahead until you see the entrance to the train station. Tickets are 170 NOK when bought in a ticket vendor machine or 200 NOK if bought manually from the ticket counter. You can also take a taxi from the taxi stalls that are located straight ahead as you exit the arrivals halls. A taxi to the city centre will take approximately 45 minutes outside rush hour. Taxi fares vary between the different companies, but most companies offer a fixed fare between the airport and the city.

Moss Airport Rygge (RYG)

Located 70 km southeast of Oslo, Moss Airport Rygge is Ryanair's main hub in Norway. From here, you can either take the Ryggeekspressen bus (170 NOK one way, 300 NOK return) or take a free shuttle bus to the Rygge train station, which is served hourly by NSB. Train tickets are 160 NOK.

Sandefjord Airport Torp (TRF)

Located 118 km southwest of Oslo, Sandefjord Airport Torp is the third airport that serves the Oslo area. From here, you can either take the Torpekspressen bus (200 NOK) or take a free shuttle bus to Torp train station, which is served hourly by NSB. Train tickets are 258 NOK.

By train:

Oslo Central Station is served by four daily trains to Stockholm and three daily trains to Gothenburg.

By ferry:

Oslo is served by ferries to Kiel, Copenhagen and Fredrikshavn. The Copenhagen and Fredrikshavn ferries dock near the city centre, with a signposted walkway to Oslo Central Station. The Kiel ferry docks a bit further away, but there is a shuttle bus to the city centre. Taxis are also available.

Arriving in Oslo

Oslo has a small and compact city centre, so once you have arrived at the Oslo Central Station, you will find that everything is within reasonable walking distance. Walking from the Central Station to Håndverkeren, which is the main venue for the event, takes roughly 10 minutes.

The Airport Express trains arrive in the far south end of the station. As you exit the train platform, you can either proceed to the left if you want to take a taxi, or you can go to the right and walk through the station to the main hall, and then turn left to the main entrance where you will find buses and trams. The closest stop to Håndverkeren is Tinghuset, which is served by tram lines 11, 17 and 18.

As per ALDE Party Regulations, reimbursement will be offered to council delegates – please download, complete & return the form below to qualify.
