On 9 January, ALDE Party member Radikale Venstre in Denmark organised a virtual New Year’s Convention under the theme ‘Welfare under pressure’, with panel discussions centring around the welfare state’s core challenges, green transition, social policies, health care, and more.

In her panel intervention, party leader Sofie Carsten Nielsen shared the party’s perspective when it comes to the welfare society of the future and relevant developments at home and abroad. You can watch the full intervention here (from 01:55:00, in Danish).

European Commission Executive Vice-President Margrethe Vestager also delivered a message at the convention, with a focus on the future of European welfare. In her message, Executive Vice-President Vestager highlighted the possibilities that welfare provides for people and the importance of cooperation at the EU level on issues, such as labour market and work conditions.
