This year’s EuroPCom, the largest annual event for experts in the field of public communication, will focus on communicating democracy and the European Union, and includes speakers such as Renew Europe CoR President François Decoster in discussion on how to engage voters ahead of the 2024 European elections.
During the event, communication experts from the local, regional, national and European levels will share best practices when it comes to successful communication strategies and voter engagement with a view to the 2024 European elections. They will also look at how disinformation is affecting democracy and how open data solutions can empower citizens, among many other topical issues.
Gunars Ansins, Mayor of Liepaja, Latvia will also take part in a discussion is on building resilience to election-related information manipulation, with a hands-on simulation exercise where participants will be asked to react to a disinformation attack.
EuroPCom, the European Public Communication Conference, is Europe’s largest annual gathering of experts in the field of public communication and is jointly organised by the EU institutions. The 14th EuroPCom conference takes place on 26-27 June 2023 in Brussels and online.
