François Decoster, Vice-President of the Renew Europe Group in the European Committee of the Regions (Renew Europe CoR) and Mayor of Saint-Omer, France, has been appointed as Head of Cabinet of the Secretary of State with the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs in France. He will work for Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne (LREM) who is in charge of Trade, Tourism, Development and Francophonie.
As a result, Decoster will step down from his elected position in the region of Hauts-de-France.
“The Secretary of State in charge of Foreign Affairs proposed to me to direct his cabinet. As you know, I have been an advisor to several ministers for almost 10 years and this experience serves my purpose of serving the people in our region. I have accepted this proposal and sincerely thank Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne for his confidence. I want to support him in the implementation of an ambitious international policy of our country at a time when the message of France and its values are so important to our common future,” Decoster said after his appointment.
