Last week, the Renew Europe Group published a consolidated collection of the European Parliament’s Committee team proposals in response to the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the document, the Group outlines actions proposed by the different committees, and highlights the importance of working together, stating:

“Only by working together can we as Europeans tackle the challenges that the COVID-19 pandemic poses. The Renew Europe Group is steadfast in its determination to do everything within our power to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated European response and subsequent economic recovery. This crisis has shown the need to reinvent the European Union, so it is better able to respond to the common challenges that Europeans face. The Conference on the Future of the European Union will be central to this.”

The document also outlines five key themes in more detail, all central to solving the ongoing crisis: Saving lives and restoring Europe’s health; Surviving to thriving – a plan for Europe’s Economic Recovery; Defending European values; Forging an international response; and A Coordinated European exit strategy.
