A new government is set to take office in Finland on 20 June, following elections in April.
ALDE Party member Svenska Folkpartiet i Finland (SFP) will hold three Ministerial posts in the new government for the first two years of the term, and two Ministerial posts for the second two years of the term.
The Ministers are:
- Anna-Maja Henriksson - Minister for Education, with responsibility for Nordic issues
- Anders Adlercreutz - Minister for European Affairs and Ownership Governance
- Sandra Bergqvist - Minister for Sport and Youth (2 years)
Presenting the Ministers, SFP leader Henriksson said: “The government is now investing in basic skills - everyone should be able to read, write and count when they have completed their education. We want to give both students and teachers peace of mind and more time. We will invest in schools and direct another €200 million to basic education. Finland is going back to the top of the world rankings for education”.
“In the troubled times we live in, close European cooperation is increasingly important. Together, we must work for a more sustainable and competitive EU that stands up for the common values of human rights, the rule of law and democracy”, added Adlercreutz.
