On 3 May, ALDE Party and The Alliance Of Her hosted the world premiere of their first-ever documentary film, She Will Be Heard: The Movie. The special evening event brought together nearly 200 guests to view the film and hear from Aoife McCooey (Ireland), Katrīna Ruzaiķe (Latvia) and Elena Buratti (Italy), the three young women featured in the film.
The audience was welcomed by ALDE Party Vice-President Svenja Hahn MEP, an alumna of the Alliance Of Her academy. In her remarks, Hahn highlighted the importance of role models for aspiring women in politics and how She Will Be Heard: The Movie will serve as inspiration for liberal women across Europe.
Following the film, a brief Q&A was held with Aoife, Katrīna and Elena, moderated by the Alliance Of Her Executive Director Ian Marquardt. The three women shared their experience of taking part in a documentary film, as well as how the film highlights barriers that they and other young women face when setting out on their political journeys.
Despite challenges, She Will Be Heard: The Movie highlights how, through passion and determination, these young women make their voices heard. You can find more photos from the event on Flickr.
