Liberal democracy and the rule of law are the backbone for an open and prosperous Europe. Our liberal EU Commissioner Věra Jourová is the guardian of these principles, but Viktor Orbán wants to roll back decades of progress for our hard-won European freedoms. He is trying to remove a Commissioner for doing her job and monitoring the rule of law and, at the same time, he is trying to imprison those that speak out against him and his government.
