Since 2022, Svenja Hahn has been working as Vice-President of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE Party) with the national member parties and sister parties of the FDP from all over Europe. She worked strategically on the 2024 European elections and the party's internal women's network.

As the top candidate of the Young Liberals and the Hamburg FDP, she obtained the second position on FDP's list of candidates for the 2019 European elections, campaigning under the motto "Seize Europe's opportunities", resulting in her election.

After graduating from high school in 2009, Hahn moved to Giessen in Hesse for her bachelor's degree in history and cultural studies at the Justus Liebig University, where she became a member of the FDP. In 2014, she was elected to the board of the European Liberal Youth (LYMEC) for the first time. From 2018 to 2020, she was president of the association, which has around 200,000 members in almost 40 countries.

Prior to her mandate in the European Parliament, she most recently headed the international press office of a medium-sized brand company.
