On 29 April, Team Europe member and ALDE Group leader Guy Verhofstadt will take part in the Maastricht debate that brings together many of the leading candidates of the European political parties. Verhofstadt will debate with Bas Eickhout for the European Greens Party, Frans Timmermans for the Party of European Socialists, Violeta Tomic for the Party of the European Left and Jan Zahradil for the Alliance of Conservatives and Reformists in Europe.
Organised for the first time in 2014, this year’s edition will also focus on the concerns of students and young people across Europe, many of whom will be voting for the first time. The three topics of the debate are Digital Europe, Sustainable Europe and the Future of Europe.
The 90-minute debate will start at 19 CEST, live-streamed on Youtube by Politico
