Over the weekend of 31 March – 3 April, The Alliance Of Her 2022 Academy continued with the launch of its open class, formed by incredibly impressive and talented women from around Europe. Participants met for the first time at the home of the academy – the Domaine de Ronchinne in Belgium.
Following the first session of the ‘Youth’ edition of the 2022 Academy, the open class also experienced an intense programme with content covering key areas relevant to succeeding in political life[1]. Participants had the chance to go deep into their personal goals and political plans with their peers, experts and experienced female political leaders. The Alliance Of Her was also proud to collaborate with Eva Barboni of Atalanta, who gave a special session on strategies specifically for women in political leadership.
A major highlight for the participants and the whole Alliance Of Her team was the involvement of Belgian Secretary of State for Budget and Consumer protection, Eva De Bleeker. De Bleeker joined for one of the Academy’s famous ‘fireside chats’, where she shared the story of her rise in Belgian politics to her current position; her successes and challenges and what she has learned in her inspiring journey so far.
Now that both of The Alliance Of Her Academy classes have completed their first sessions, it is clear that 2022 will be a landmark year for the academy. With two more sessions over the summer, culminating in a final combined session in November it will be an action-packed year for the class of 2022 and given the calibre of this year’s participants, we can’t wait to follow their progress. Next stop, Budapest in June!
[1] The Alliance Of Her Academy continues to benefit from the support of partners FNF and ELF. As such, all participants meet strict eligibility criteria, in addition to demonstrating clear leadership talent and ambition. Participants are also informed of the prohibition to run in an election campaign during the academy or up to 12 months after the termination of the program. If this condition is not respected, participants will be required to cover costs independently.
It’s a wrap – the first academy for our Open Class of 2022 has just come to a close. Four days of empowering connections and inspiring conversations, and we’re already looking forward to the next session in Vilnius!
