On 11 February, ALDE Party hosted the first episode of the Liberal Talks series via Twitter Spaces with Antoaneta Asenova-Bihlmayer, European Liberal Youth (LYMEC) President, and Dan-Aria Sucuri, LYMEC’s Vice-President, as guest speakers.
The livestreamed event focused on the role of youth in Europe’s future, and their goals and challenges in the framework of the European Year of Youth. The effects of the pandemic, climate change, employment and education are some of the key challenges for our youth that were addressed during the conversation.
Asenova-Bihlmayer and Sucuri agreed that the Conference on the Future of Europe is a great opportunity for the youth to participate and be heard but they insisted in the need of having concrete actions taken as a result of the proposals submitted when the COFOE ends in May this year.
“For young people the future of the EU is going to be our present” asserted Asenova-Bihlmayer highlighting the importance of the outcomes of the Conference have for Europe’s youth.
“Many of us, many citizens have been spending a lot of time making something concrete out of this” added Sucuri.
