A few days ago, the Authorisation Act was adopted by the Hungarian Parliament, which means Viktor Orbán has effectively established a Corona dictatorship in Hungary.

This isn’t how democracy in an EU member state should work. Yes, extraordinary times require extraordinary measures but not without proper control and oversight, and this Act is against anything the European Union stands for: freedom, democracy, solidarity and the rule of law.

For this reason, we have started a petition to ask the European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and the European Council to take action without delay.
