On 9 May, USR launched its election campaign in Timișoara, Romania, with the other members of the United Right Alliance ahead of local and European elections in June.
Marking the occasion of Europe Day, USR, PMP and Forța Dreptei presented their priorities and vision for a modern and pro-European Romania.
The Alliance wants to transform Romania into a modern country by stopping the waste of public money, cancelling the ruling government’s tax increases, and a more efficient use of funds from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.
“We are not facing political opponents. We created the United Right alliance to offer people an honest and strong alternative to the PSD-PNL clan,” said USR party leader Cătălin Drulă.
“We want a country with highways, hospitals and safe schools. We want Romanians to be treated the same as all other Europeans and to stop children leaving the country for a better future.”
“In Timișoara, one of the most European cities in Romania, we are rallying for Europe Day, delivering and sharing the liberal message,” added ALDE Party Vice-President Dan Barna.
“We want a strong, united Europe, a Europe where freedom is a reality and not just a line in a speech. Together we are stronger. The liberal project is the future of our EU project and that of each European citizen.”
Romania will hold local and European elections on 9 June, as citizens will head to the polls to elect 33 MEPs.
