Norwegian ALDE Party member party Venstre hosted its National Conference on 6 and 7 November. In Oslo, Norway’s liberals gathered together and discussed key topics for the first time in one and a half years.
In her intervention, party leader Guri Melby took the stage and touched upon several policy issues that will be crucial for the next term, such as climate change, education, and drug reforms. She underlined the importance of sustainable but, first and foremost, liberal answers to the challenges that lay ahead.
Members of the recently elected parliamentary group, introduced by the party’s Secretary General Marit Meyer, also shared their insights and priorities for the next legislative term.
Member of Parliament from Dutch ALDE Party member D66, Boris van der Ham and Financial Times EU correspondent Martin Sandbu concluded the day with a panel debate on the future of liberal parties and ideas in Europe.
