During its Party Congress on 2 March, Venstre from Denmark shared a proposal for a European Climate Action Pact, a mutually binding agreement between the EU Member States that places climate change and environmental topics at the very top of the agenda for future EU legislation.
The Pact includes an ambitious list of measures that are geared towards ensuring a cleaner and healthier planet for the coming generations. These measures include, among others, increasing the energy efficiency of buildings, implementing the EU plastic strategy and earmarking at least 35% of EU research funds to climate change mitigation.
During the Congress, Venstre also adopted the party programme titled ‘A Safe Denmark in a Strong Europe’ and confirmed its electoral list for the upcoming European elections taking place in May. Heading the list is Morten Løkkegaard, followed by Linea Søgaard-Lidell.
