Last March, the ALDE Party welcomed Tess Meijerink as our new Political Trainee. She holds a multidisciplinary academic background, having started her studies in the Technology, Liberal Arts and Sciences programme at the University of Twente, with a focus on physics. During this time, she spent six months in Australia gaining international knowledge at the University of South Australia.
She later pursued a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations at Leiden University, followed by a Master’s in Political Science at Radboud University, specializing in conflicts, power, and politics. Her academic work focused particularly on power imbalances, gender-based violence, international interference and conflict resolution.
Prior to joining ALDE Party, Tess completed an internship at VVD International, where she further developed her interest in liberalism and international cooperation. She is motivated to contribute to strengthening liberal democratic values across Europe through her work in the Political Unit.
