At an extraordinary congress of the Servant of the People Political Party in Ukraine, strategic priorities were defined – with the foremost being support for the Security and Defence Forces.
On March 27, in Kyiv, the Servant of the People Party, a member of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE), held an extraordinary congress to determine key priorities of its activities in the context of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine and to update its internal structure.
Regarding the priorities, Oleksandr Korniyenko, the Party Chairman emphasized that the top priority is assistance to the Security and Defence Forces. In addition, the focus also includes work with temporarily occupied territories and support for internally displaced persons, development of party faction networks at all levels, strengthening veteran policy, and systematic international engagement.

Among the key decisions adopted during the Congress was the establishment of the Party Presidium as an operational governing body. Its members will include:
- The Party Chairman, Oleksandr Korniyenko
- The Chair of the Political Council, Davyd Arakhamia
- The Chair of the National Council of Communities, Oleksandr Zavitnevych
- Newly elected Deputy Chair, Vitaliy Bezgin, Arsenii Pushkarenko and Vadym Halaichuk
Oleksandr Korniyenko commented on this new body :
"The establishment of an operational body, the Presidium is about the party’s ability to respond quickly to challenges. The party must direct all its capabilities and resources where society expects them most – first and foremost, to support the Security and Defence Forces. "

Additionally, current ALDE Party Vice-President Yevheniia Kravchuk MP, was appointed as Special Representative of the Servant of the People party for Cooperation with European Partners, ALDE Party and Renew Europe.
She noted: "Ukraine is not just moving towards the European Union – we are already part of the European political family and represented in its leadership bodies. This creates opportunities to influence decisions and build direct contacts with those who make them.”
Vadym Halaichuk MP was also appointed International Secretary, in addition to his role as Deputy Party Chair. He stated: "The world is changing, and the support of partners is crucial, we will need even more of it.”
This congress enabled the Servant of the People Party to adopt strategic decisions aimed at strengthening the front, building Ukraine’s future, and reinforcing international alliances in the face of ongoing challenges.
The Congress approved a number of reforms to strengthen the party’s responsiveness during wartime:
- Support for the military: increasing financial contributions to assist Ukraine’s Security and Defence Forces in protecting the population.
- Focus on affected communities: prioritizing work with temporarily occupied territories and support for internally displaced people.
- Party restructuring: establishing the Presidium as an operational governing body to accelerate decision-making during wartime.
- Leadership: re-election of Davyd Arakhamia as Head of the Political Council and Oleksandr Zavitnevych as Head of the National Council of Communities.
- Strategic priorities: strengthening veteran policy, expanding party networks at all levels, and focusing on international cooperation.
In this context, the Servant of the People Party is enhancing its capacity both to increase domestic support for the front and to develop international partnerships.
