ALDE Party Member PDK elected its new party leader Bedri Hamza on 17 November, following the resignation of Memli Krasniqi

Krasniqi has previously supported Hamza as a successor, citing his vast experience in positions such as Member of Parliament, Minister of Finance, Mayor of Mitrovica and Governor of the Central Bank of Kosovo.

While Kosovo held its parliamentary elections on 9 February, a new government has not yet been formed. Snap elections are expected and Hamza is most likely to be once more the party’s candidate for Prime Minister.

Hamza addressed delegates after his election:

"I will give my political family everything I can, just as she gave me everything. We continue together, without stopping, towards new victories. Thank you delegates. Thank you PDK."
