ALDE Party Co-Presidents share season’s greetings

In their end of the year message, ALDE Party Co-Presidents Timmy Dooley and Ilhan Kyuchyuk MEP share their seasons’ greetings and best wishes with the European liberal family.

2023 has been a pivotal year for Europe’s liberals. Across the continent, we have fought challenges coming from the rise of populist and anti-democratic forces, threats to human rights and fundamental freedoms. But once again, liberals have risen to the occasion.

In his message, Co-President Dooley treasured the value of liberal unity ahead of a key electoral year.

“As we gather to celebrate this festive season, we at ALDE Party extend our warmest wishes for a Merry Christmas and happy holidays to each of you. As we gather with loved ones during over the coming weeks, let us embrace a spirit of hope and unity,” he said.

“As we look ahead to the new year and the 2024 European elections, let's carry forward this spirit of unity and generosity. Let's commit ourselves to building a future where every individual is valued, every voice is respected, and every community thrives.”

Co-President Kyuchyuk added: “During this time, we are especially mindful of our Ukrainian brothers and sisters. Their courageous battle for independence and peace is a reminder of the values we hold dear in a liberal Europe: freedom, democracy, and the unwavering spirit of resilience. We are also reminded of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, which weighs heavily in our hearts.

"From all of us at ALDE Party, and on behalf of the entire liberal family, we wish you a season filled with peace and happiness. May this holiday bring you closer to your loved ones and may the new year bring hope.”
