Moreover, during the Council, the party bureau’s decision to appoint Sabine Dechamps and Didrik de Schaetzen as Secretaries General ad interim was confirmed. The delegates also discussed several urgency resolutions that will be available on our website in due course.
Delegates also received an update on the ALDE Party Manifesto process and the revision of the Stuttgart declaration, and discussed a revised internal regulation of the party, among other things.
Moreover, the Council adopted the following statement:
"The ALDE Party Council regrets that it has had to adopt changes to its Internal Regulations to meet the requirements of the Authority and its rulings. The position of the ALDE Party and its member parties is that political parties in non-EU countries are valuable and essential participants in the full range of activities of European Political Parties, promoting democracy and European integration in their countries. The ALDE Party will continue to fight to ensure that all of its member parties, in both the EU and outside the EU, can fully participate in its activities."
The next Council meeting will take place in Bucharest, Romania, on 20-21 October 2023.
