The Alliance Of Her Pan-European Academy is proud to welcome 22 new participants to the Class of 2026. This group of ambitious women are stepping forward at a time when liberal women’s political leadership has never been more necessary.

At a moment of rising misogyny and growing autocratic pushback, our participants choose to enter political environments that can be dismissive and openly threatening to women. Their choice is a clear statement of resilience and belief in a better future.

As the ALDE Party’s flagship women’s empowerment programme, the Alliance Of Her aims to ensure women in political life can lead, succeed, survive and thrive. The Academy supports participants to enter political spaces with confidence, skills and support.

Since 2016, over 350 women from liberal parties across Europe have graduated from the Alliance Of Her Academy. Graduates have gone on to become ministers, members of parliament, party leaders, councillors and rising political voices.

Through a growing alumnae network, participants find genuine sisterhood and long-term support, connecting women at every stage of political life. The Class of 2026 now joins this legacy at a critical moment for democracy and gender equality.

You can play a role in supporting these 22 women as they begin their Academy journey:

The Alliance Of Her Academy benefits from generous support of our partners, including the European Parliament. As such, all participants must meet strict eligibility criteria, in addition to demonstrating clear leadership talent and ambition. Participants are also informed of the prohibition to run in an election campaign during the academy or up to 12 months after the termination of the program. If this condition is not respected, participants will be required to cover costs independently or with a ‘substantial’ contribution from their political party.
