As the ALDE Party marks 50 years of shaping European politics in 2026, this is a celebration for liberals across Europe.
For five decades, liberals have expanded freedoms and protected democracy. Now, as Europe faces new challenges, our anniversary is not only a moment to reflect but a moment to act together and to shape the future of the liberal movement.
Throughout the year, we will mark this milestone with events and activities across Europe, creating opportunities for our member parties to take part in their own countries. We will share tools and ideas to help you bring the anniversary to life and connect your communities to our shared European story.
Celebrations kick off in February in Stuttgart, where the European Liberal Declaration was signed in 1976. In March, we will mark the official anniversary of the ALDE Party in Brussels.
As we move into the summer, we will focus on events centred around young liberal leaders and liberal pride. Our 50th anniversary Congress will take place in July in Vienna, with the celebrations at the core of everything.
Closing out the year we have even more to offer as our 50th anniversary Meet and Greet in Brussels in September will have plenty of activities. Our members will also partake in a special 50th anniversary Council, ALDE Accelerator and a Festival of Ideas.
Together, liberals can choose the future.
