On 13 October, ALDE Party welcomed Aoife Devereux to the ALDE Party Secretariat as our new Communications Assistant, as part of the Communications & Events unit.

Aoife joins the team having already gained a wealth of experience within the liberal family. As an Irish native, she began her political career with ALDE Party member Fianna Fáil in Ireland, where she worked as a Ministerial Political Assistant in the Irish Parliament. She later joined the European Liberal Youth (LYMEC) as a Communications Assistant, focusing on youth engagement, political outreach, and strengthening the European liberal network.

After completing her Bachelor’s degree in Politics & International Relations at University College Dublin, Aoife took part in an Erasmus+ semester in Brussels. She later returned to the city to earn a Master's degree in Political Science and European Governance at Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Having now lived in Brussels for almost three years, she is eager to empower audiences through inclusive and engaging political communication.

With research experience on far-right nationalism and the drivers of populist vulnerability, Aoife is passionate about creating communication that broadens liberal reach and counters polarising, extremist rhetoric. She looks forward to promoting the ALDE Party’s values through compelling articles and a fresh perspective.
