ALDE Member Party Bright Armenia marked a major milestone on 13 December as the party celebrated its 10th Anniversary Congress, bringing together delegates at a decisive moment for Armenia’s political future.
The Congress saw delegates re-elect Edmon Marukyan as Party President, alongside the members of the Party’s Governing Council, reaffirming confidence in the party’s leadership and direction ahead of the next parliamentary elections.
Beyond celebration, the Congress was firmly future-focused. Bright Armenia confirmed its intention to take part in the 2026 National Assembly elections and gave the newly elected leadership the green light to begin talks on building a broad pre-election alliance.
Speaking at the Congress, Marukyan made clear that cooperation would only be possible with ideologically aligned forces and on the basis of compromise. But he drew a firm political line that ruled out any cooperation with the current authorities.
“We will not even go to a sacrificial feast with the incumbent authorities,” Marukyan stated, underlining that this position is a clear and non-negotiable red line for the party.
As Bright Armenia enters its second decade, the Congress sent a strong message of renewed ambition for Armenia’s liberal future.
