On 12 October, Kosovo held the first round of its local elections for 2025. ALDE member party PDK achieved a strong result, receiving the most votes for Municipal Assemblies countrywide, over 175,000. The party will advance to run-off elections for six constituencies on 9 November.

PDK advanced to become the main political force in the capital as well. In the election for the Municipal Assembly of Pristina, they achieved their best result ever, ranking as the second-largest party with over 21,000 votes. The party’s candidate for Mayor of Pristina, Uran Ismaili, ranked third in the race, receiving nearly three times the number of votes compared to the last mayoral race.

Commenting on election night, Party Chair Memli Krasniqi said:

“Citizens, democracy and faith in the future won. We continue with dedication and faith towards the re-confirmation of victories in every municipality where we are on the ballot.”
