Last weekend, Gibanje Svoboda (Freedom Movement) held its second political festival outside Ljubljana, Slovenia, where party leader and Prime Minister Robert Golob launched the party’s new slogan "Svoboda napre" (Freedom Forward) ahead of parliamentary elections scheduled for 2026.

Addressing the crowd of members and supporters, ALDE Party Vice-President Malik Azmani celebrated the achievements of Prime Minister Golob’s government and the shared liberal values that unite Gibanje Svoboda and ALDE Party.

“I am honoured to be here and to celebrate the journey your party is on. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Golob, you have worked hard to improve life for the people in Slovenia.”
“You have also shown strong support for our friends in Ukraine, and you have been an active voice for liberal values at the European level, specifically in the European Council”, he added.

Looking ahead to the ALDE Party Council in June, Azmani welcomed Gibanje Svoboda’s intention to join the European liberal family:

“The ALDE Party is more than just a group of political parties. It is a family – where we work together, share ideas and stand up for our liberal values. That is why I’m so happy that you have decided to join.”

Prime Minister Golob echoed this spirit of optimism and transformation in his remarks:

“We have the courage, knowledge, and dedication to build a better Slovenia together…Because we did not go for power, but for something we believed in. We went for change, and today it is alive and growing.”

The party also unveiled its new party logo, and confirmed Matej Grah as the new Secretary General. You can read more about the festival here (in Slovenian).
