The 2024 ALDE Party Extraordinary Congress takes place on 20-21 March in Brussels, Belgium.

Resolutions and Voting

Voting Delegations 

As per ALDE Party statutes, delegation lists close one week prior to the Council Meeting. 

The deadline for closure of delegations is Wednesday 13 March at 12:00 CET. 

After this time, International Officers will still be able to validate the attendance of delegates from their parties, but will no longer be able to allocate voting rights or make changes to their delegations. The ALDE Party Bureau can allow for changes to delegations in exceptional circumstances such as flight cancellation, sickness or unforeseen political developments.

Resolutions 

The draft ALDE Party European Manifesto and Charter of Values were circulated to International Officers on 21 January (1st Communication to Member Parties). 

The deadline for submitting any amendments is Wednesday 21 February at 24:00 CET. 

During the day on Wednesday 20 March, the Working Group shall discuss the European election Manifesto and vote to adopt and/or reject amendments and the text as a whole. 

On Thursday 21 March, the Working Group shall discuss and adopt the Charter of Values, as well as any urgency resolutions that were submitted. As agreed at the Council in Bucharest on 21 October 2023, no other draft resolutions may be submitted to the extraordinary congress.  

Urgency Resolutions 

As stated in the Internal Regulations of the ALDE Party, only full member parties may propose urgency resolutions for discussion and adoption at the Council. 

These must relate to current or recent political events or to topical issues that have occurred since the last meeting of the ALDE Party Council (22 October 2023 in Bucharest, Romania). 

Draft urgencies may not exceed 300 words. The Council shall decide which draft urgency resolutions to debate, after considering the recommendation by the Bureau. 

Draft urgency resolutions must be submitted to the online platform.  

The deadline for submitting urgency resolutions is Monday 18 March. 

Accessing the resolution platform 

Draft urgency resolutions can be submitted via the online platform at debate.aldeparty.eu. 

This platform will be available shortly, and International Officers will be able to log in using the same login credentials as for the registration system. 

Urgency resolution Working Group 

Submitted urgency resolutions will be circulated to member parties and will be subject to discussion during a working group during which registered delegates can present oral amendments for discussion and adoption. 

Further organisational information will follow in due course. 

Upon conclusion of the working group, the amended resolutions will be circulated to member parties ahead of the Council meeting when a vote will be taken if or not to adopt as amended.

The 2024 ALDE Party Extraordinary Congress will take place on Wednesday 20 - Thursday 21 March in Brussels, Belgium. The Extraordinary Congress will be hosted at Maison de la Poste.

Maison de la Poste is located at Tour & Taxis, ''Rue Picard 7, 1000 Bruxelles''. From Brussels airport Maison de la Poste is best reached by taxi, but can be reached by public transport as well.

The "Renew Europe Now" electoral platform Campaign Kick-off, on will take place in the evening of Wednesday 20 march in Brussels, Belgium. The Campaign Kick-off will be hosted at Musées royaux d'Art et d'Histoire. 

Musées royaux d'Art et d'Histoire is located at ''Parc du Cinquantenaire 10, 1000 Bruxelles''. 

For Delegates attending the Extraordinary Congress at Maison de la Poste, there will be a transfer service to reach the Renew Europe Now platform event.

Click here to register to our platform. Create an account or log into your existing one. Once you have access to your account a navigation menu will be displayed on the left side of the page. 

Enter mandatory personal details, upload a recent photo of you and select if you are attending the congress in-person or online. These details can be changed / updated later.

Using the navigation menu on the left, you can access the messaging system and events page. Through these you can received news, official communication, navigate the congress programme and register for events.
