Please note: The Lozenets Residence is just a short (maximum 10 minute walk) walk from the Hilton Sofia.
ALDE Party Staff will be waiting outside the front entrance of the Hilton Sofia as 17:45 on Saturday 28 April to escort you to the Residence, alternatively you can make your own way there.
For access to the Lozenets Residence, all attendees MUST wear their Council badges and lanyards. This venue is a Government Ministry Building and access will be strictly controlled. There will not be the possibility to reprint badges or receive new lanyards so attendees must be sure to keep their access badge with them.

Bulgaria currently holds the presidency of the Council of the EU so demand for hotel rooms in this period is extremely high. Delegations are therefore strongly advised to make their bookings as soon as possible.

Transport
Sofia has an extensive public transport network of buses, trolleybuses, trams and two metro lines.
Airport access
All flights to and from Sofia are operated through the Sofia Airport, which is located 10 km from the city centre and can be reached within a 20-minute ride. Owing to the fact that Bulgaria currently holds the presidency of the Council of the EU and demand for flights has increased in this period, delegates are advised to make travel arrangements as soon as possible.

Public transport
The easiest way to access the City by public transport is by taking a metro. Sofia Metro Line 1 connects Sofia Airport to the city centre and provides direct connection from the airport to the large residential complexes in close proximity – “Druzhba” and “Mladost”, as well as to more distant complexes to the west – “Zapaden Park” and “Lyulin”. The journey time from Sofia Airport to the city centre is approximately 18 min. Single ticket costs 1.60 BGN, which equals to approximately 0.81 EUR.
Note: Most ticket machines only accept Bulgarian banknotes and coins.

TAXI: Taxi operator OK Supertrans AD is a contractual partner of Sofia Airport. Depending on distance, a trip to the City costs around 7-10 EUR.
Travel reimbursement
In accordance with ALDE Party statutes, partial travel costs will be reimbursed to ALDE Party Council delegates only. To claim your reimbursement, download the form at the end of this page & follow the instructions listed on it.
Bilateral meetings
A small number of rooms are available for bilateral meetings onsite at Council. If politicians who are members of your delegations need space for a bilateral meeting, please contact the Secretariat on the following details to book a time when they can use a meeting room:

PLEASE NOTE that space is limited and is only available for small groups. Rooms will be allocated on the basis of first come first served but with preference to politicians' meetings.
Copying & Printing
In order to comply with ALDE Party commitments to environmental sustainability, Council documents will NOT be printed & distributed to delegates. Instead, all registered delegates will receive the aforementioned documents by email, prior to the event.
Reprint of badges
Please note that ALDE Party Council badges and lanyards must be worn at all times. In case of loss or damage, administrative cost of reprinting is €25.00. The fee can be paid by cash or card at the registration desk. Registration desk will be open on Saturday 28 April at 07:30 - 17:00.
