Take action against Russian intimidation of investigative journalism!

On 26th of December, Russia has put the investigative journalist Christo Grozev on its “wanted” list, according to the Russian Interior Ministry.

Christo Grozev, a Bulgarian citizen, is the lead Russia investigator at the journalism group Bellingcat.

He has reported extensively on Russia’s involvement in a number of high-profile international crimes, including the 2014 downing of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 in eastern Ukraine, the poisoning of Alexy Navalny and Sergei and Yulia Skripal in the United Kingdom.

Since the start of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February, Grozev has been using open-source digital tools to document war crimes and other atrocities committed by the Russian army during the conflict.

Information published on the ministry’s website said he was “wanted under an article of the Criminal Code,” without specifying the exact article.

Help us get a swift reaction from the European Parliament!

The European Parliament must show solidarity

I believe the European Parliament must show solidarity when the rights of the citizens of a Member State are violated and support Christo Grozev in this difficult time.

Therefore, I am planning to table the following written question to HR/VP Borrell asking for strong condemnation of the measure announced by the Russian Federation against him and providing Grozev and other independent journalists who are wanted by the Russian Federation with the necessary protection.

If you wish to co-sign the attached written question, please sign our petition below.

Thank you in advance for your support and best wishes,
