ALDE Party Council meets in Zürich

On 28 June, liberals across Europe met in Zürich to discuss key topics at the ALDE Party Council.

During the meeting, two new full member parties were welcomed to the ALDE family: the Green Liberal Party from Switzerland and the Save Romania Union (USR) from Romania.

Moreover, three current member parties changed their status from full to affiliate membership: Partit Demokratiku from Malta; Liberálisok from Hungary and Republican Party from Georgia.

The Party Council also discussed the successful results of the 2019 European elections for the liberals.

Two urgency resolutions – on EU-Switzerland relations and on the attack on the Hungarian Academy of Sciences – were also discussed and adopted during the Council meeting.
