On 20 April, ALDE Party member Demokratesch Partei (DP) in Luxembourg launched its campaign ahead of the European elections in June.
At an event in Leudelange, Luxembourg, DP presented to the audience its full list of candidates led by Charles Goerens MEP and Amela Skenderović under the slogan “Europe, strength that protects us”.
DP’s manifesto for the next European mandate includes proposals to effectively combat climate change, reform institutional democracy, expanding the EU to new Member States and enhancing security and defence cooperation.

"Many things work well in Europe. We currently perform at our best in times of crisis. But we also have to perform well in normal times. We need more political leadership: without it, we cannot progress in Europe,” said Goerens.
"Europe to me means freedom, security, values, peace, stability. But it's all about the people – it's about empowering them, improving the educational opportunities of our youth, strengthening tomorrow’s generations. Luxembourg is only strong when Europe is strong,” said Skenderović.
“As a democratic party, we are convinced that the citizens must be more actively involved in the fight against climate change. DP is a party that takes action, and we will continue to work on making the energy transition attractive to everyone,” concluded DP President Lex Delles.
The European elections in Luxembourg are scheduled to take place on 9 June, as citizens will head to the polls to elect six MEPs.
