ALDE Party President Hans van Baalen, together with the Members of the European Parliament, has paid tribute to Samuel Paty, the French schoolteacher who was killed last Friday after giving a class on the freedom of expression.
President of the European Parliament David Sassoli led a minute of silence during the opening of the plenary session of the European Parliament earlier this week.
ALDE Party President van Baalen calls on everyone to stand united against any form of extremism and to preserve secular, liberal values.
🙏🏻 Today we pay tribute to French school teacher Samuel Paty who was beheaded by a religious fanatic for defending the freedom of expression. We should all be united against the extremists who attack our free society and secular, liberal values! #JeSuisSamuel 🇪🇺 https://t.co/h0g3rfwll4
