Commissioner hearings scheduled for coming weeks

Last week, European Commission President-elect Ursula von der Leyen announced her plans for the new European Commission portfolios. The new Commission is expected to start its mandate on 1 November.

Before starting in their suggested roles, the Commissioner-elects will be subjected to hearings by the European Parliament.

The schedule for the hearings of liberal Commissioners has now been released:

Wednesday 2 October:

9.00-12.00 – Didier Reynders (Belgium) – Justice

Hearings by LIBE/JURI

14.30-17.30 – Sylvie Goulard (France) – Internal Market

Hearings by IMCO/ITRE

18.30-21.30 – Janez Lenarčič (Slovenia) – Crisis Management

Hearings by DEVE

Thursday 3 October:

9.00-12.00 – Kadri Simson (Estonia) – Energy

Hearings by ITRE

Monday 7 October:

14.30-17.30 – Věra Jourová (Czech Republic) – Vice-president for Values and Transparency

Hearings by AFCO/LIBE

Tuesday 8 October:

14.30-17.30 – Margrethe Vestager (Denmark) – Executive vice president for the Digital Age

Hearings by ITRE/MCO/ECON
