On 7 December, ALDE Party and the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF) hosted a Liberal Breakfast on the Czech presidency of the European Council.
Dita Charanzová MEP, ALDE Party Vice President, shared her insights and perspectives on how the Czech presidency has responded to pressing issues such as inflation, the energy crisis and security. The discussion was moderated by Jules Maaten, Regional Head European Dialogue of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom.
Charanzová stressed that the Czech presidency managed to uphold EU unity when it comes to the response to the war in Ukraine. However, there is still more to be done to address the impact of the conflict on citizens, for instance energy and food prices.
She also touched upon key challenges such as gender equality, rule of law, the green transition and trade relations with partners such as US.
