Exciting times! Last week the European Parliament Conference of Presidents -the leaders of the political groups in the Parliament- agreed to suggest to the Council for the next European elections to take place between 23 and 26 May 2019.

The proposed dates will now be sent to Member States for approval, particularly considering that many countries hold their regional and state elections on the same day. For instance, in Belgium, the next federal and regional elections will take place the same day as the 2019 European Parliament elections.

In the coming months, the members of the ALDE manifesto Drafting Committee will start shaping the first ideas for the 2019 campaign under the leadership of Chair Taavi Roivas. It's time to start getting ready to bring Europe forward!
